XFX Radeon HD 5870 Seen in All Its Might

The site Videokonsolu has posted some pictures and benchmarks of XFX Radeon HD 5870 graphics cards – let’s check it out.

Just like Sapphire HD 5870, XFX HD 5870 is based on ATI reference design, and packs the following specs:
40nm RV870 GPU
1600 stream processors
1GB/2GB GDDR5 memory
256-bit memory interface
Core/Memory clock of 850/1200MHz (4800MHz DDR)
2.72 TeraFLOP
27W when idel and 188S when loaded
support for DirectX 11, Stream, UVD 2.0 and CrossFireX


Along with Core i7-965EX, HD 5870 got a 3DMark Vantage score of P15822, and GPU score of 15853.

When the 8xAA is enabled, the gaming performance of HD 5870 dropped by 20%, while that of GTX 285 reduced by up to 50%.

No the x2 is coming out in mid to late october.

That score seems low as my i7 965 and gtx295 score is P27,000

Nick,
You score 27000 because you have the physics being done by your GPU. When this is done, your score will not be valid at futuremark. Disable PPU then tell me what you get
