Our friends over at Tweaktown has just learned that Gigabyte is ready to add SATA 3.0 and USB 3.0 features to its upcoming high-end socket LGA 1366 motherboard – EX-58 EXTREME 2.

Powered by a 24-phase circuit, the board makes use of two Marvell 88SE9123 2-port 6Gb/s controller and two USB 3.0 controllers to give out four SATA 6Gb/s and four USB 3.0 ports, respectively. The rest of its features are: four PCI-Express 2.0 x16 slots, six DDR3 DIMM slots to support up to 24GB of memory, six SATA 3Gb/s ports, dual gigabit Ethernet, and support for both ATI CrossFireX and NVIDIA SLI technologies.

Just like the company’s P55A family unveiled last weekend, the EX58 EXTREME2 also comes with triple power USB.

The EX-58 EXTREME2 motherboard should be launched ahead of the winter shopping season, targeting Asus P6X58D Premium.
