Sparkle Develops First Low Profile GTS 250 Graphics Card

Sparkle has just revealed the world’s first low profile graphics card based on GeForce GTS 250 graphics chip – Sparkle GeForce GTS250 Low Profile, aiming to “provide powerful 3D performance and amazing home theater experience to HTPC enthusiasts”.

Featuring a PCB height of only 6cm, the card is shipping with 128 stream processors, a 256-bit memory interface, and Core/Shader clock of 600/1500MHz. Available in 1GB and 512MB variants, the memory clock are set as 1600MHz and 1800MHz respectively.

Equipped with HDMI and DVI connectivities, the price of Sparkle GTS250 Low Profile has yet to be known.

    Jebus, that’s a lot of performance in a small form factor — I still remember when 128-shaders was in a $630 video card just 3yrs ago.

    Of course back then, 7600GT low profile existed, so did it’s replacement 8600GT, then 9600GT just last year. Now it’s replacement, GTS250, is being slimmed. I wonder what next year’s slim card will be like, trimmed down GTX280 type, lol?

    The last few years Nvidia has been bad thing rebrand the hi end GPU to mainstream. That will make high electrycity and also very hot. Why the don’t make something mainstream GPU with max 30W?

    Those clocks are from the 8800/9800 GT not the GTS 250 (9800 GTX+). However, having a 8600 GT, a 8800 GT low profile seems nice.
