Radeon HD 5970: The Undisputed Performance Champ
Radeon HD 5970 Specs

Powered by dual GPUs with a total of 4.3 billion transistors, Radeon HD 5970 features 3200 stream processors, 160 texture units and 64 color ROP units, delivering an overwhelming single precision processing power of 4.64TFLOPs. It sports 725MHz GPU clock frequency while the memory operates at 1000MHz, supporting leading-edge technologies including ATI Eyefinity multi-display technology. Regardless of such conservative clocks, the maximum board power has reached 294W, while the equipped 8pin+6pin external power connector can just accommodate 300W power (including the 75W that PCI-E slot provides).
Available at $599, Radeon HD 5970 is much cheaper than two Radeon HD 5870s, but costing tens of dollars more than GeForce GTX295.
