Do You Believe The GeForce GTX360/GTX380 Benchmarks Or Not?

According to the recently leaked GeForce GTX360 and GTX380 benchmarks, Fermi is indeed something awesome which actually won with a great advantage over the Radeon HD 5970. Some reports later indicated that the results were fake. However, the thing doesn’t come to end yet.
We have just been told by reliable sources that those benchmarks were exactly what NVIDIA showed AICs at the recent internal meeting. So, can we conclude the benchmarks are real?
How do you think about this – true or fake? Let us know by leaving your comments. Thanks!

I think the benches were real, although NVIDIA immediately pulled the benches again because of the lousy comments (not that I mean the comments were lousy, but the comments that the new cards were lousy). So I think they are now trying to speed up their chips to compete better with the ATi-chips. Nevertheless, you don’t score until you score NVidia! So prove you’re better or try next year.
December 18th, 2009 at 7:30 pm
Nvidia won’t use aa on their benches.
December 18th, 2009 at 9:57 pm
I don’t believe any benchmark that uses MaxFPS as the value given. A proper benchmark chart is given over time showing the different FPS as gameplay progresses.
December 18th, 2009 at 10:04 pm
obviously fake, they’re still having yield problems with TSMC so where they got those results from is beyond me
December 18th, 2009 at 10:15 pm
being fake or not, obviously we can’t take those numbers for real until some trustworthy site/person review the cards with a proper methodology, like the ones we like to see be4 we dump our money =]
but i sadly believe they will achieve even by a small margin, the desired effect of publishing this “pic”, that is, i already know 2 guys that won’t buy this christmas a 5870, just wait until the gtx360 comes out…
its a 5870 spoiler for ppl that would buy one now i feel..
December 18th, 2009 at 10:17 pm
These results are fake!

ATi Radeon HD 5000 series graphics cards are REAL and AMD/ATi is making money and people happy (DiRT 2 with DirectX 11).
nVidia is thinking about the future and is failing in presenting the market with a real solution. Pity!
So, go grab your ATi Radeon HD 5000 series card and have fun!
Don’t waste your time waiting for the “future” nVidia is proposing, which by the way is not coming until July 2010, at least.
Cheers!

Nvidia won’t use dx11 on their benches.
December 19th, 2009 at 3:46 am
How you can tell it’s fake: It starts with 0 at the bottom, compared to the usual 30 FPS below the highest value.
December 19th, 2009 at 4:56 am
the guy who posted these goes by the name of SUCCESFULL_TROLL
December 19th, 2009 at 9:40 am
i thought there was another article on this stating that nvidia confirmed it was fake and was used from their older slides.
December 19th, 2009 at 10:29 am
yeah, it came straight from the horses mouth that these were fake. I’ll take nvidia’s word, for whatever it is worth, over the source.
December 19th, 2009 at 10:30 am
Is it fake or is it genuine? One thing’s certain though, NVIDIA’s GF3xxx lineup remains to be seen. ATI already delivered and NVIDIA should release their cards sooner. Whatever NVIDIA throws at ATI at this point is squat. ATI’s cards are HERE!!! Where you at, NVIDIA?!!!
December 19th, 2009 at 12:16 pm
No, they’re not real.
As for anyone that wouldn’t buy a 5870 because they’re waiting for GTX360, I would tell those friends to wait for 5890. GTX360 looks to be designed to compete/edge out 5870.
Bet 5890 adds better value at the same price tag.

@CJ
By coincidence, the founder of ATI was a Chinese too…
December 19th, 2009 at 6:17 pm
If you were told by reliable sources the benchmarks are true, then the answer is pretty simple
December 20th, 2009 at 1:50 am
I don’t know the reason but this site seems to be a little well-disposed to NVIDIA. I am reading many news from many sites and here I always find that NVIDIA is better and everything about it is great while ATI almost sucks… I am no fan to ATI neither to NVIDIA but I think that this kind of promoting makes no good for anyone. And its true that NVIDIA are late this time…and for now Ati gives you more for the money… so I dont know about this poll but you should provide some sources from your benchmarks and some true results
December 20th, 2009 at 5:54 am
Fake !
Nvidia underestimate DX11 and this is a very big evidence that they are having problem with there Fermi in this area !
December 20th, 2009 at 12:50 pm
THIS IS FAKE AND GAY!
December 20th, 2009 at 2:00 pm
They’re fake, we’ve been told that by NVIDIA EMEAI PR head.
December 21st, 2009 at 6:36 pm
Just keep talking about Fermi, otherwise nVidia would be forgotten by the tornado ATi/AMD is causing in the market with its REAL products selling like hot cake.
It’s, kind of, promoting a graphics card that doesn’t exist.
Cheers!
December 21st, 2009 at 10:28 pm
i love nvidia cards
but not a fan boy
i choose who is powerful
and can’t believe that bench’s. it’s FAKE
December 21st, 2009 at 11:40 pm
Every card in that “benchmark” provides perfectly playable framerate, probably all of the dx11 capable cards provide at least 60 fps bottom speed, so no one will be able to spot a difference. Delivering 100+ fps doesn’t make sense.
BTW:
Current games are made primarily for consoles, pc versions will sometimes have some dx11 effects, so performance in dx11 mode is the only interesting thing now, because in dx9 mode almost every card will provide good fps.

This HD 5000 and DX11 is some fucking hype, get over it. Today there still isn’t much difference between DX11 and DX9, the same shit is possible on DX9! http://common.ziffdavisinternet.com/util_get_image/17/0,1425,sz=1&i=174785,00.jpg notice the Tessellation on DX9?
There’s no point apart from power consumption and benchmarks to upgrade from HD4770/48X0 or even from HD3870/2900 to HD57X0. I tested HD2900 850/2000 and 5770 850/4800 and there is no visible difference(~10%) in games, Max smooth is still Crysis @ High, GTA IV @ High and so as all other games running at exact same settings! Now Phenom II X3 @ 3,5GHz shouldn’t block that hard, or does it?
December 23rd, 2009 at 11:33 pm
That is not Tessellation, that is parallax occlusion mapping (POM), it gives the impression of depth on textures. For Crysis, to enable it with console command: r_UsePOM=1. POM is more taxing than Tessellation and I cannot wait for Tessellation’s implementation in future games.
And come on, there is a huge difference between those cards in frame rates. It won’t matter if the resolution is at, or under 720p, but anything higher will be obvious.
December 24th, 2009 at 12:08 am
There is no fucking difference, both running Core @850, and that HD2900 owns, I also tested it when when my friend got his HD4850. He ran his @ def clocks, mine 2900 512MB was clocked @ 850/2000 and it beated the def 4850 by a small margin whatever res was selected. As I freakin told u, @ these clocks the 5770 has around 10-15% better FPS and thats a shit, cos that 5770 has 1GB mem. I compared these @ 1280×1024, even tho the res is that low, 5770 isn’t still able to run Crysis smoothly DX10 Very High, so fuck it how much higher FPS it is @ high cos both cards play it 30+ FPS anyway. Well and GTA IV, maby theres the CPU, but

Too bad I didn’t run it @ 850/2000, also the vsync was on. And again, yes, 5770 gives bit over 60FPS WO vsync, same settings, but yet I can’t run the game smoothly Very High.
December 24th, 2009 at 1:19 am
It’s your results against hundreds of results online, even on YouTube, showing that an HD 2900 XT on a low resolution Crysis is slower than a 5770 at high resolutions.
December 24th, 2009 at 1:19 am
@expertview
We’re talking about games running at 1920×1080 totally maxed out in graphics quality, anisotropic filtering and anti-aliasing.
A ATi Radeon HD 4850 runs Crysis @ 1 fps at this resolution and quality.
So what’s your point saying that the new ATi HD 5000 series is the same thing compared to its previous generation?
We see that you knowledge about graphics cards is very similar to the language level you’ve used in your comments.
Cheers!
December 24th, 2009 at 2:28 am
I’m not saying that HD5000 series suck, I’m saying 57X0 cards aren’t as good as you fanboys imagine. I’m saying that 5770 isn’t able to run Crysis at VERY HIGH settings u retards and so as that overclocked 2900. YOU FPS NOOBS, IF U HAVE 15FPS WITH OC’d 2900XT OR 20FPS WITH 5770, BOTH ARE UNPLAYABLE!!! If 2900XT is slower @ low than 5770 at high, you’re just a retard or there is something completely wrong with that system. That overclocked 2900 runs Crysis HIGH 1280×1024 totally smooth, aswell as most other games. Yes, the 5770 is cool and quiet, but performance is not enough better, max 25% AT THE SAME CORE CLOCK (2900XT def clocks are 740MHz core /1650MHz mem, mine was OVERCLOCKED to 850/2000!). 5770 is not future proof, so i suggest 5850 instead. I don’t think 54 FPS in GTA IV with those settings is especially bad. AND ONCE MORE, 5770 IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH TO MAX OUT GAMES SUCH AS CRYSIS, GTA IV and other demanding games. Did you get it?
December 24th, 2009 at 2:59 am
My point is, we better hope that this Fermi is more powerful, then prices would drop. Wouldn’t it be nice if HD5850 price would drop to 5770 level? I’d stick another HD5770 in and CF em.
December 24th, 2009 at 10:26 am
Oh, my bad. You were talking about resolutions, yes, e.g. 2900 running @ 1680×1050 might be equal or slower than 5770 @ 1920×1080, haven’t checked it, but if both on def clock 2900xt is definitely slower. I also think HD5000 series have a bit better image quality. But that wasn’t the case for me, I was rather hoping to max out ingame quality settings in games where I couldn’t do it before.
December 24th, 2009 at 10:49 pm
expertview can you take you fanboy garbage and shove it. (1) At least ATI is giving the consumer a new product and isn’t renaming the previous gen card and calling it new. (2) You are comparing prior generation PERFORMANCE/HIGH END cards to this generations BUDGET cards. Make a proper comparison or STFU fanboy.
December 25th, 2009 at 1:48 am
With tesselation the rock really bumps out of the ground; with parallax occlusion it just looks like it bumps out, in fact if you look at it from a steep angle it will reveal its flatness
December 26th, 2009 at 1:09 am
Hey Toast, sorry I started this OT,(2)I replaced 2900 because it was really hot and noisy under such OC. 320 vs 800, I was expecting the 5770 to give 50% better FPS. I compared those as close clocks as possible, too bad I don’t have the 1GB version of 2900. LOL, that 2900 is actually 2900PRO, it’s just flashed with modified 2900XT BIOS, sounds BUDGET to me. Calling me Nvidia fanboy, then why the hell I bought those ATi cards in the first place? (1)I don’t mind if they rename the GTX 285 to GT 520 and sell it cheap enough to compete with ATi. The real issue is that most games are ported from consoles, that is blocking DX11, especially things like “DX11 True Multithreaded Rendering”. We need some native DX11 games.

So get out let everyone go to see see, is true, everybody to help me out of opinion. Look forward to someone can give me a reply. Rightness, forgot to say the web site:http://www.topnflnhl.com/
