Report: NVIDIA’s Fermi GPU Postponed till March 2010
According to what Digitimes has learned from graphics card makers, NVIDIA’s Fermi-GF100 GPU is not coming out until March, 2010.
NVIDIA originally planned to launch Fermi in November 2009, but was delayed until CES in January 2010 due to some reason. However, the company recently told graphics card makers that the official launch will be delayed until March 2010.
The first Fermi-based consumer product should be GF100, which is built with 40nm and features GDDR5 and supports DirectX 11. The GF104 is said to make its debut in the second quarter to target the high-end market.
For performance level market, NVIDIA will defend against AMD Radeon HD 5770/5750, HD4870/4850 and HD4670/4650 with its GeForce GTS250, GT240/220 and 9800GT/9500GT. Meanwhile, AMD is expected to launch 40nm Radeon HD 5670/5570 (Redwood) and HD5450 (Cedar) GPUs at the end of January or in February 2010.
TG Daily has asked NVIDIA about this, and got a vague answer – “I can confirm that we’re still on track for shipping in Q1 like we have been orginally stating.”

Big surprise! Isn’t that what Charlie Demerjian has said for the better part of the last half year or so?

LMAO Charlie can go take ATI up the rear.
but all it all I rather have a KICK ASS product versus some thing RUSHED out the door.
AMD/ATI did win this past round. but if u think about it. Nvidia had the 9xxx series out for around a 2 month period then BLAM the 2xx series was out. so i say it was about time.
The nvidia vs ATI thing always happens. ATi wins one now nvidia wins later then ati then nvidia. some times every Once and a while like the 8series 9 series and 200 series the Nvidia will kick ass through and through.
Ati Was then forced to make and release a KICK ass product. the 5000 series is rock solid in every single way.
if Charlie was wrong… it means NVIDIA HURRIED IT OUT THE door.
I for one am GLAD charlie ATI FANATIC was once right.

@NcokeO:
You do realize that the whole 9xxx series from nVIDIA was just a rebranding and marketing move, do you.
The most significant thing was that some chips were shrinked to a smaller production process, that’s all.
