Thermalright Venomous X: A Premium Choice for LGA1366 Platform

Specs and Features

Venomous X just supports Intel LGA775/1156/1366 processors, which means if you’re using AMD AM2/AM2+/AM3 processors, you’ll need to buy the mounting kit separately via here.

Looking quite similar to U120E, Venomous X measures 127x63x160mm, weighs 755g (without fan and bracket system), and can be installed with two additional 120mm fans for enhanced cooling.

Equipped with 47 pieces of aluminum fins, Venomous X features unique bent winglet design which allows air to rapidly pass through the heatsink with minimal resistance.

As you can see, the six U-shaped heatpipes of Venomous X are arrayed in a different way from U120E.

Be careful – when holding the Venomous X, you might be hurt by the sharp corners. Thermalright told us the angles are designed to transfer airflow more efficiently and to make the unit look more shiny.

According to the company, the airflow is already equal to that U120E Rev.C generates, so there’s no need any more to design an arrow hole on the center of heatsink.

The mirror-polished copper base is nickel plated to ensure long-term usage, and the base is still convex.

The accessories include LGA775/1156/1366 mounting kit, four 12cm fan wire clips, four anti-vibration strips and a tube of Chill Factor 2 thermal paste.
