Can you find the origami dragon in these photos? I heard a rumor that all bios, voltages, fan speeds and overclocking as well as thermal info can be accessed and adjusted with an iPhone running Bluetooth, whoa, now that’s amazing at least to me…Thanks Asus this mainboard will be the core of my new i7-900 build along with Intel X-25Ms, Corsair 850W HX PSU, ATI 5850, Noctua NH-D14, and fans, and the new Prolimatech MK-13 VPU Cooler. Uber-Fast and Urbanely Quiet! Oops can’t forget Corsair 6X2Gb blue top 1600Mhz memory modules and Intel quad core 3.33Ghz 32nm 1366 9xx series which has not yet been announced, maybe this weekend at CES, keeping my toes crossed. Bruce Out!

Almost forgots, this new over the top mainboard from Asus garners the MeanBruce Kick My Ass Good Award, who the hell needs an indepth review, WE ALL KNOW its already great!!!Past Tense! Right? When can the big brown truck bring me one? Go Asus!

hahahah bruce the mobo will be the most expensive piece in your pc man
January 11th, 2010 at 4:07 am
CPU $560 to $600 guessing if intel Ever comes out with a 970.
Memory 6sticks x 2Gb around $400.
So this Asus Mobo would be 3rd most expensive… Yup it’s high but worth it!!!
January 11th, 2010 at 4:45 am
I’m cool with a $250-$275 pricetag, but would be stoked if the released it for under $250.
January 11th, 2010 at 6:39 am
just sayin that if i bought this, id use three or four cards and a six core… but maybe it really performs great on top of just having a lot of features
January 11th, 2010 at 1:10 pm
This ones got liquid cooling written all over it. The heatsinks obviously -_-
I dont think she will fit a mid tower.
Rampage II has got better looks & color scheme but this one is obviously an architecturally superior board. Reminds me of EV…
January 11th, 2010 at 11:07 pm
Yup Ted know what you mean, who the hell buys a 4 slot Ultra Mobo like this one and only throws one video card in it? How stupid right? Well not really, all silent enthusiasts know you have to Over-heatsink a Mobo and Memory and PSU in order to keep temps way down and fans running at 6db with lower air flow. So you buy the most efficient PSU Corsair makes, not the most powerful and you run the 850watt bad boy at maybe only 40 to 50percent load just using Microsoft Word(hold on it gets weirder) and you break your brand new 7year Corsair Warranty by installing a ultra low noise Noctua 140mm fan. We are a crazy bunch us silent nuts!!!

I may end up with a 6core if Intel doesn’t come up with some new 1366 4cores but that certainly does sound silly 6 beautiful cores for word processing and spreadsheets. But when you love computers, anythang goes!
January 11th, 2010 at 11:47 pm
my friend I’m afraid to say, but that chipset will be HOT without an additional and loud fan… it’s weird asus did not put water blocks on an extreme edition
January 11th, 2010 at 11:51 pm
bruce only one ati 5850?? so what do you need this mobo??? only to spent money???
this mobo is for who gonna put at least 2 top graphic cards (5970) or 3 or 4 5870…
January 13th, 2010 at 6:27 am
Ted! Dude! Right now I am running the X48 chipset, not having any trouble. Does the X58 run alot Hotter? Ya scarin’ me man!
January 13th, 2010 at 7:38 am
@Stock, you shouldn’t have any problems whatsoever but when you start cranking up the clocks and voltages things get pretty hot pretty fast. Considering how many power connector the have on that board the cooling does seem a little lacking.
January 13th, 2010 at 9:09 am
@ MeanBruce: Intel’s X48 chipset is rated at 30W TDP while X58 is rated at 24W, but temperature will vary by the heatsink placed on them. Wattage heat is not the same as temperature.
January 13th, 2010 at 9:59 pm
The heatsinks just look a little small, thats all
January 13th, 2010 at 10:23 pm
why does it have a molex connector?
January 13th, 2010 at 10:59 pm
Thanks lephron, I feel much better. Does anyone know which temp reading in SpeedFan 4.39 software corresponds to the chipset? Is it temp 3, temp 4, internal temp? And Ted you should see how small the x48 heatsink is on my current mobo Intel DX48BT2, it’s an inch squared with no heatpipe to transfer the warm stuff out. This Asus looks like 4 times the metal? And I am running the Huge Noctua NH-D14 two tower CPU heatsink with no fans attached. Could probably get great results also with Prolimatech MegaShadow with no fans.

very sexy motherboard however I do not like the molex connectors
I have the asus rangpage II Extreme right now with I7 975 cpu
I don’t know if i am going to upgrade one thing I know is you never buy hardware in Recession

It seems harder and harder these days to find good blogs to read when looking into making a purchase. I really have been having trouble finding blogs which offer all the information I am looking for before I jump in and make a purchase. Without this blog I really don’t know what I would of done as I really don’t know my way around when it comes to computers, laptops and so on.
