EVGA’s Dual Socket LGA1366 Motherboard on Display

As the company promised, EVGA showcased its dual socket LGA1366 motherboard during the CES 2010.
The workstation class board utilizes Tylersburg 5520 chipset, NF200 bridge chip which offers seven PCIe x16 slots, and high-quality components that EVGA Classfied boards used. It also boast support for EV bot for monitoring and overclocking.

If you load the board up with four GPUs as the above picture shows, it would become rather hot. The fellows at TweakTown were told that EVGA hadn’t finalized the cooling solution, but they’re considering putting some passive heatsinks to help remove some of the heat.

Dr. Efrem:
Desktop cpu’s won’t do dual socket. You need Xeon 55xx series for this (or whatever they are naming the hex core xeons).
Kinda wish they had gone the whole hog and made it a 13×16″ board, so you could have more spacing between cards or a sound card or something.

Xeon 5500 = 45nm Gainestowns
Xeon 5600 = 32nm Gulftowns
Both work with this board. For anyone’s info, Xeon 5600 32nm parts aren’t just 6-core, there are 32nm quads coming.

Only stupid people will buy this. “Wow I can play Warcraft with so many cores on my 17″ monitor, wow, and I can contribute to humanity by folding, it helps more to humanity than donating money and time for the helpless, oh wow, but I am polluting the atmosphere because folding and 4 graphica cards needs more electricity, but it’s okay because I wasted my money on this shit. Buying clothes and stuff to make me look like a man is a waste of time, LOLBBQWTFWJSDROLFCPT.”
