Apparently not satisfied with its latest achievement by introducing the highly-praised Radeon HD 5670, AMD is planning to reveal the entry-level DX11 GPUs in February – Radeon HD 5500 and HD 5450.
Both coming with low-profile design, Radeon HD 5500 and HD 5450Â feature up to 200 stream processors, 64-bit memory interface, GDDR5 (HD5500) or GDDR3 (HD5450) memory, DVI+HDMI+D-Sub connectivities, and support for HDMI 1.3a, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio, ATI Eyefinity and DirectX 11 of course.
The HD 5500 reference card is cooled by a small fan, while the HD 5450 employs passive cooling solution. With less than 50W board power, they should be ideal choices for building HTPCs.Â
