GF100 Official Benchmarks Unearthed

NVIDIA’s GF100 has been sighted for a couple of times in a pretty mysterious way, but it remains to be seen how fast it can be. Fortunately, our fellow site HardOCP has recently been given an in-depth look at the architecture and performance.

The “GF” in “GF100″ stands for a “Graphics” solution based on the “Fermi” architecture, and the “100″ denotes that it’s the high-end part of the current GPU family.

I bet many of you are eager to find out its real performance - let’s check out how it performs against ATI Radeon HD 5870. But, NEVER expect these benchmarks to be 100% objective - stay tuned until it’s finally here.

Just the fact that I don’t see any 3Dmark or game benchmarks, leaves me to expect not too much from Nvidia this time. And how interesting is tesselation/directx11 for CURRENT games anyway?

  2. SJ Says:

    Pretty exciting.

  3. mrt181 Says:

ohh, how i love this marketing chatter

  4. ASeven Says:

I’m sure these benchmarks must be making someone excited…

  5. NVIDIAGOTTOLD Says:

NO SPECS NO GAME BENCHMARKS NO YIELDS NVIDIA GOT TOLD

  6. Someone Says:

gh: So let me get this straight: when ATI released its DirectX 11 GPU’s, all of a sudden it’s the best thing since sliced bread, tessellation is the next “Big Thing”, everybody’s shouting from the top of their lungs how they’re somehow the best. Now that NVIDIA is going to release their DirectX 11 GPU’s, and some slides leak out showing ATI’s ass being handed to them, you people immediately start saying that DirectX 11 don’t matter, that tessellation won’t help in current games and so on? Am I the only one who sees the FUCKING IRONY in this? ROFL. You fanboys are unbelievable. Seriously.

  7. Agreed Says:

Exactly, I agree with the above. The fanboys deserve inferior performance if they’re going to be that fucking stupid.

  8. OblivioN_ Says:

    they trash talked nvidia…

they putted them selves on peaks of fanboyism.. “the first dx11 gpu on the market! we are the best!”

    ..
    but now..

now they are afraid cause they saw a glimpse of this Fermi future power

now they are scared! they do not trash talk nvidia…

for 8 years nvida has the crown.. maybe not always in price.. but in research and gpu development they are unmachted!

and so it shall remain this way for more years to come!

  9. I0mega Says:

Nice charts coming from a cheating company. Remember their cheating drivers for Crysis a few years ago to get more FPS? Also, tessellation for Nvidia is different than ATI. It is made to win on benches, but not on actual running games.

  10. Bill Hadley Says:

Has anyone seen the article on SemiAccurate regarding Fermi?
    http://www.semiaccurate.com/2010/01/17/nvidia-gf100-takes-280w-and-unmanufacturable/

Nvidia GF100 pulls 280W and is unmanufacturable: Details it won’t talk about publicly

  11. read Says:

    @Bill Hadley
seriously, anyone who believes the rantings from a website called “SEMIACCURATE” needs to rethink what legitimate journalism is. Everything from that site should be taken with a grain of salt…

  12. YYL Says:

NVIDIA had never says some things like tessellation won’t help in current games before. and the only thing they said is that switching to DX11 from DX10 have not got more improvements compared to when Dx9 switching to DX10. They didnt say those things r not improtant

  13. Expertview Says:

Now I can see Nvidiots have jumped out from closet. As no fannboy whatsoever, I’d say lets wait for real reviews. I wouldn’t be so sure about that Farmi kickass thing, afterall, AMD can easily bring out HD 5890.

  14. Shin0bi272 Says:

This isn’t at all surprising. Nvidia said this was going to be big and they weren’t lying. They totally smoked AMD (again) in the actual performance category even if they weren’t first to market. For the first 2 or 3 months of the 5870 you couldnt get one anyway because of tsmc’s issues. So while AMD made it to market first they essentially took a 4000 series card and put it on a 40nm chip and made it directx compatible. This also should shut the AMD fanboy on youtube up who claimed the gt310 was nvidia’s “half baked answer to the 5870″ and that the nvidia 295 got 8fps on stalker clearsky. Suck it AMD Fanboys! You lose again!

  15. Toast Says:

    @Shin0bi272

You don’t have any idea what you are talking about. So, please do STFU.

  16. no Says:

He doesn’t realize that it’s not a war between the people, but a war between the companies and the people

  17. wherearethebenchmarks Says:

where are the real benchmarks? comeon, let’s see some crysis or farcry2 fps benchmarks, not a bunch of lame synthetics numbers…

  18. anonymous Says:

Yipe! I have no idea what ‘tessellation’ is honestly, but for the newest most powerful card to be compared to a cheaper mid-range card from ATI is not a good sign. Of course, it’s not out yet, has few specs, and well, nobody will know for sure until at least april-ish. I still can’t believe that Intel didn’t buy Nvidia after AMD acquired ATI. It would be no surprise if Nvidia lacks the resources to compete will all of AMD.

  19. moviescapital Says:

Great info and right to the point. I don’t know if this is actually the best place to ask but do you folks have any ideea where to get some professional writers? Thank you :)
