Samsung Develops First 30nm-Class DDR3 DRAM

Samsung has just announced the industry’s first 30nm-class DRAM which has successfully completed customer evaluations, in 2Gb densities.
The 30nm-class 2Gb DDR3 DRAM reduces power consumption by up to 30% compared to 50nm-class DRAM. A 4GB 30nm module when used in a new-generation notebook will consume only 3W per hour, which is just 3% of the total power usage of a notebook.
The 30nm-class process also increases productivity by 60% over 40nm-class DDR3, and its production cost-efficiency doubles compared to DRAM produced using 50nm to 60nm-class technology.

”will consume 3W per hour” ?
Wat is a Joul per second, which mean device consuming 3W power consumed 3*24*60*60=259,2 kJ through hour
