Samsung’s Eco-Friendly Hard Drives Shipped Already

Samsung has just revealed EcoGreen F3EG series hard drives in capacities of 1.5TB and 2TB, which claim to consume 40% less power in idle mode and 10% less when reading/writing than competing drives by supporting EcoTriangle technology.

The 3.5-inch drives feature three or four 500GB platters, a SATA 3.0Gbps interface, 16MB/32MB of cache memory, both working at 5400RPM and supporting the SilentSeek & NoiseGuard functions.

The 2TB EcoGreen F3 HDD is now listed for €128 in Europe and the 1.5TB model should be arriving shortly as well.

    Yes, and he could save 300,000 watts if he shut off his 2 terabyte pron and movies and web surfing luxury item.
