ATI DirectX 11 Ready Radeon HD 5450 Debuts for $49

AMD has just released the entry-level Radeon HD 5450 to bring DirectX 11 functionality to more budget users, aiming to replacing Radeon HD 4350 which currently retails for $35-$50.
The low-profile card is powered by 40nm Cedar graphics processor, and sports 80 stream processors, 8 texture units, 4 render back ends, 292 million transistors, GDDR3/GDDR2 memory, 64-bit memory interface, and minimum power draw of 6.4W.
Equipped with DVI, HDMI and D-Sub connectivities, the Radeon HD 5450 features passive cooling solution and supports ATI Eyefinity technology. The fresh card will become available immediately from a number of partners such as Gigabyte, MSI and Sapphire with a price tag of as little as $49.

why? it’ll probably cost more than a 4000 series equivalent (like all of the 5000 series so far). what is the benefit? dx 11?? who cares?
