Catalyst 10.1 Hotfix Takes Care of Grey Screen Issues on Radeon HD 5800

Radeon HD 5000 series graphics cards were reported with gray screen and vertical line corruptions issue, and AMD gave a quick response earlier this week saying they’re working on a fix.

Finally, the Catalyst 10.1 Hotfix is here for download. According to the company, the hotfix “alleviates some of the intermittent grey screen and vertical line corruptions that may randomly appear during normal usage when using an ATI Radeon HD 5800 series graphics card”.

However, the fix appears to concern Radeon HD 5800 series only, without providing the involved users of HD 5700 series with a solution.

Anyway, click here to get the hotfix if you need it.

Update: TomsHardware claims the hotfix applies to the HD 5700 series as well, but AMD hasn’t confirmed about it yet.

this is getting annoying. Obviously 1 month is not enough to improve driver performance and make it reliable. They should change it to once a quarter.
