Confirming our earlier report, AMD has today announced the Radeon HD 5830, the lowest-end model of HD 5800 series.

The Cypress-based HD 5830 packs 2.15 billion transistors, 1120 stream processors, 56 texture units, 16 color ROP units, 256-bit of GDDR5 memory, and core/memory clock of 800/1000MHz, consuming 175W at maximum.

Priced under $250, the Radeon HD 5830 will be manufactured by AIBs, so you can expect further price drop in a few months. We’re posting a review shortly – stay tuned.
