NVIDIA GeForce GTX480 PCB Pictures Leaked Online

Yesterday NVIDIA showcased its GTX400 graphics card in a running system, but many of you may be interested in digging more. Fortunately, the Tweakers site has scored some pictures of the GTX480 in nude.
The particular card which was shot is based on NVIDIA’s A2 version of reference design, while the final product we will buy is built with A3 version. The GPU die looks to be massive – in excess of 500mm2, and the PCB packs twelve DRAM to form 1.5GB/384bit. The card features 6+2 phase power supply and has 8pin+6pin external power connector.
Equipped with two SLI connectors, the card supports 3-way SLI and is cooled by a four heatpipe heatsink. The output includes dual DVI and mini HDMI.
According to the Tweakers, only 5,000 units will be available in the initial launch, which means NVIDIA will give supply priority to first-tier makers while the second-tier will be unable to start mass shipments until April.

It looks ugly when compared to the sleek and naked 5870. It looks like something that the Borgs would make in Star Trek.
