Intel to Provide Researchers with 48-Core Processors

 

Intel has recently announced that they’re providing certain top universities around the world with the engineering samples of a processor with no less than 48 cores, which is four times more than AMD’s new Opteron 6100 series.

Core i7-920 to be Replaced by Core i7-930 in Q2 2010

 

Released back in November of 2008 as one of the first three Nehalem processors, Intel’s Core i7-920 is withdrawing the market quite soon. According to Intel Product Discontinuance Notice, the CPU will be fully replaced by the faster Core i7-930 in Q2 2010.

Galaxy’s Custom-design GeForce GTX 470 Poses for the Camera

 

We’ve managed to grab some juicy pictures of Galaxy GeForce GTX 470 and GTX 480. Noteworthily, Galaxy GTX 470 has employed gray frosted design instead of the black design of reference board to make it look even cooler. The card is marked with an eye-catching tag of “Fermi GPU inside”. Galaxy is also thoughtful enough to label nearby the power connector that “at least 550W of power supply is required”.
