AMD Tapes Out First Bulldozer Microprocessors

 

The world’s second largest supplier of microprocessors AMD has recently claimed that they have taped out the first CPUs based on the Bulldozer core. The company hopes to begin sampling the chips to customer shortly and initiate mass production sometime in 2011.

The Third 12-inch Gigafab Gets Groundbreaking

 

We have posted the construction of Fab 15 on July 16th. And yesterday, TSMC’s third 12-inch (300mm) Gigafab (namely Fab 15)groundbreaking ceremony held in Taichung’s Central Taiwan Science Park. It is said that Fab 15 will ship exceed 100,000 12-inch wafers per month, and also be TSMC’s 2nd Gigafab employed 28nm technology.
