HR-02 with Fanless Design for Low-noise Operation Review

Introduction

Apparently countering its Silver Arrow CPU cooler, which boasts two fans, Thermalright is preparing to let loose the HR-02, a tower cooler that’s supposed to provide top performance but without using any fans.

As our guys all know that, fanless design is exclusively for low-noise operation. Both pre-HR-01 and HR-01 Plus get good performance in terms of heat dissipation, but it’s not enough to deal with super-CPU. Mybe HR-02 has this capability, how fantastic!

2 POUNDS (1100 grams) WITHOUT THE FAN?! O_O What was Thermalright thinking…

  2. Dynamic Says:

    HR-02 weighs 875g, not 1100g.

  3. Jon Says:

That’s not what Thermalright’s site said.

Unless… it could be corrected later?

  4. Dynamic Says:

875g is the actual measurement, just the cooler. Maybe what Thermalright’s site said include fans and buckle’s weight.

I really like the design, made to get as close to the case exhaust fan as possible. But the price, $74, are they crazy?

    @ Dynamic

Thermalright’s site updated the product page for the HR-02 regarding the weight of the cooler, which now says it weighs 860G (excluding fan and bracket system).

I don’t mean any disrespect… it’s just that every product is going to be different from what you see on said site. In your case, that HR-02 you reviewed was 15g heavier than what Thermalright posted on their specs.

This is the second time I can remember that the weight of a Thermalright cooler was incorrect before it was launched, and that was the AXP-140 (900G! O_O)

Hi, Neat post. There is a problem with your website in internet explorer, would check this… IE still is the market leader and a big portion of people will miss your magnificent writing because of this problem.
