A 27-inch Widescreen Display with LED Backlight Technology

Apple has today announced a 27-inch widescreen display — the LED Cinema Display, which featuring a cinematic 16:9 aspect ratio and an astonishing 2560-by-1440 resolution.
The LED Cinema Display looks great from any seat in the house, thanks to a premium display technology called in-plane switching (IPS), which allows you to get a bright picture with excellent color consistency — even if you’re viewing the display from the side. And it features the ultra-compact Mini DisplayPort connector, so it compatible with the current lineup of Mac notebooks and desktop computers; On the back of the display, there have three self-powered USB ports, also have a MagSafe connector that powers and charges your MacBook; The built-in iSight camera, microphone, speakers, too.
The LED Cinema Display uses mercury-free and aluminum construction, meets the stringent low power requirements set by the EPA, giving it ENERGY STAR 5.0 qualification. And it will be available in September for $999.

Monitor vendor, please create bigger resolution than 1080p and please use S-IPS. Do it like you switch GPU from PCI to AGP, or AGP to PCI-e. Kill or TN Panel like they kill SDRAM, DDR, etc. I mean use the way computer do when they have new port

IPS is too slow in my opinion… TN can have very good colours with rgb led backlightning
