AOpen XC Mini MP55 Review
A Home Theater PC (HTPC) or Media Center is a convergence device that combines some or all the capabilities of a personal computer with a software application that supports video, photo, and music playback, and sometimes digital video recorder functionality. Though HTPC case is able to meet such needs, many comsumers are wild about purchasing the whole HTPC. AOpen is good at making Barebone, and XC mini MP55 is their newest product, it is similar in size to DVD-ROM.
Based on MODT（Mobile on DeskTop）platform, the XC mini MP55 is praised by Intel HM55, and mobile CPU is also needed. Users can easily purchase a specific component (CPU, RAM, Wireless LAN, or Optical Drive) to optimize performance without having to buy a complete new system. The greatest highlight is the power consumption for MODT, taking advantage of Intel HM55, the new XC mini MP55 has a low maximum design power (TDP) of just 3.5W, it is far less than PCs.
