ATI Logo to be Canceled?

Since AMD acquired ATI in 2006, the original logo of ATI GPUs have been retained. But according to a recent post at kitguru, the logo is going to be terminated by the end of this year.
It’s AMD’s marketing strategy to keep the ATI logo, and the strategy did work during its competition against the chip giant Intel.
More than one logo undoubtedly means even more money, resources and efforts. Additionally, AMD is going to release the new-generation Fusion APU which integrates CPU and GPU. The usage of ATI logo is going to cause confusion to consumers, so the company is said to consider canceling the ATI logo. If the rumors are true, the new logos should already have been created and approved.

If this is true, then I’d say it’s about time.
