Mounting-Holes Pitch of Mainstream VGA Cards Listed

The graphics card market has been undergoing profound changes in the recent years. The arrival of a new GPU based product causes the change of PCB design, and thus the adjustment of VGA cooler is required.

That whether a VGA cooler can be installed on the graphics card depends on the mounting-hole pitch on the PCB.

The mounting holes pitch varies for different graphics cards. The mounting holes pitch of new GeForce GTX 460 is 51*61mm, which is different from the others.

In the above chart we’ve listed the mounting hole pitch information of the mainstream graphics cards on the market, according to the reference design.

Most of them are 43*43mm, 53*53mm, or 58*58mm.

The mounting holes pitch of NVIDIA GeForce GTX 465/470/480 is 58*58mm, while that of GTX 460 is 51*61mm, and the of the upcoming GTS 450 would be 53*53mm. The pitch of last-generation GT200 series is unique as well – 62*62mm.

The mounting holes pitch of AMD Radeon HD 5800/5500 is 53*53mm, the same as that of HD 3800/4800 series. However the pitch of Radeon HD 5600/5700 has changed to 43*43mm.

We hope the above information is helpful to consumers who need to buy a third-party VGA cooler. At present very few 3rd-party VGA coolers that are available on the market support the mounting holes pitch of 58*58mm or 51*61mm.
