Dedicated To Overclocking,Intel Introduces Z68 Express Chipset

Due to the limit of clock generator, there is rumor that Intel Sandy Bridge processor features bad overclocking capability. And therefore,Intel displayed K series Sandy Bridge processor and overclocked it to 4.9GHz to prove its strong overclocking capability.

As PCGH reported,Intel will introduce a brand-new chipset dedicated to overclocking. Its model number is Intel Z68 Express which is the first chipset beginning from the letter Z.

Z68 chipset is based on Intel P67/H67,supports Sandy Bridge processor with LGA1155 port.In addition, its basic spec is the same with P67.Compared with P67/H67,Z68 aims to provide better processors, memory and overclocking capability,so it can be described as "best partner" of K series Sandy Bridge processors.

What’s more,Intel Z68 Express chipset adopts Intel Rapid Storage Technology 10.5 storage technology. The two new characteristics interests us most. One is RST SSD Caching, allowing users to match SSD in a cache form with machined disk, improving system data read-write capability.Another is allowing users to access to 2.2TB disk forming RAID.

Motherboard of Intel Z68 Express chipset will hit retail in the 1st quarter of next year. However, the exact release day and price has yet to be confirmed.
