NAND Flash Contract Prices Stays Flat In The 2nd Half Of January

Contract prices of NAND flash chip have stopped rising and stay flat in the second half of January 2011,according to DRAMeXchange.

Most memory card manufacturers have finished restocking their inventory before mid-January ,and they’re not prepared to purchase chips for retail sales,as flash cards and drives haven’t got obvious growth trend.

However,NAND flash chip demand in smartphones and tablet market is increasing, which has helped sustain chip prices.

As DRAMeXchange predicted, contract prices of mainstream NAND chips may fall after the Lunar New Year. But strong smartphone and tablet sales would bring some difference to this condition.

Contract prices for 16Gb and 32Gb NAND flash memory chip averagely stabilize at US$3.56 and US$5.38,respectively.
