According to the source from Donanimhaber,AMD is going to unveil Radeon HD 6990 on March 8th,which is claimed to be the fastest graphics card currently to compete with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 590.
AMD Radeon HD 6990 packs two 40nm Cayman XT core,with die size of 389mm2 for each.In addition,it features 2×2.64 billion transistors,3072 stream processors,192 texture units,4GB GDDR5 memory with memory interface of 256-bit.
What’s more,the graphics card adopts dual-BIOS design,provides a CorssFire connector with a BIOS optional switch beside it.It features metal material at the back to avoid PCB out of shape.
As for I/O,reference AMD Radeon HD 6990 supports Eyefinity technology,provides four mini-DisplayPort and a DVI connector.It needs to take up two PCI slots when installing graphics card.
