In general,in order to provide faster transmission speed,manufacturers always make some adjustment in ports or main controllers.It’s quite creative for ASRock to use XFast USB technology to boost USB transmission speed greatly without changing the hardware.In addition,in our test,we can see there’s certain improvement of XFast USB transmission speed,in some cases there even features obvious improvement in read and write speed,in ATTO 4KB read and write test,no matter USB 3.0 or USB 2.0,there is twice or four times speed improvement with them.
ASRock XFast USB technology has a general performance in random reads and writes,but it’s mainly used in USB mobile memory acceleration,in this accasion,sequential reads is the major issue,especially copying high-definition film or gaming,the users need stable transmission speed,which is just the strength of XFast USB,it can get improvement by up to 17% and 5% in reads and writes even on the basis of USB 3.0.
The carrier of XFast USB technology is software,but it can only operates in ASRock motherboard,not supports the products of other manufacturers,it’s understandable,and undoubtedly,it’s also the selling-point of itself.As the appearance of ASRock XFast USB technology,other manufacturers also follow up,such as Gigabyte Turbo USB,which is the similar acceleration technology.In the future,we expect more tiny and practical USB acceleration technology.
Now we say something more,in our test,we can see USB 3.0 solution from EtronTech in reads features much better performance that that of NEC,while NEC performs better than EtronTech in writes.The two chips have their merits and demerits,on the whole,EtronTech solution is comparatively better,in this point you can take it for reference when you buy the motherboard.
