We got some news that AMD is going to unveil Radeon HD 6790,which is designed to compete with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti.And also its specifications are exposed by NordicHardware.
According to the source,Radeon HD 6790 is based on Barts core(codenamed Barts LE) of Radeon HD 6800 series.The core packs 10 SM(Streaming Multiprocessor)units totaling 800 stream processors,boasts 40 textures units,32 ROPs,GDDR5 memory controller with memory interface of 256-bit.
The reference Radeon HD 6790 employs 1GB GDDR5 memory,features core/memory clock of 840/1050MHz,has TDP of 150W as well as provides dual-6pin power connectors.
From the specifications,the performance of Radeon HD 6790 falls between that of HD 6850 and HD 5770,it should be supposed to call Radeon HD 6830,instead AMD chooses to get the card into Radeon HD 6700 series,so it’s possible that AMD will unleash Radeon HD 6830 graphics card in the future.
