Recently Japan Akihabara store used the retail A8-3850 and A6-3650 APU for the overclocking test,trying to dig out their overclocking potential.
The first testing APU was A8-3850,it matched with Gigabyte GA-A75-UD4H motherboard.As for the cooling system,liquid nitrogen was essential,and the cooler was Japan T-Shooter company produced improved type of liquid nitrogen radiator.
After the test,A8-3850 APU was overclocked to 4.906GHz in the voltage of 1.792V.At this time,FSB was 169.2MHz,while the multiplier was 29MHz.In addition,when the clock speed was 4.756GHz(164*29),the APU passed the Super PI 32M test,the scoring was 14 minutes and 17.500s in the voltage of 1.76V.
It was turn for the test of A6-3650,but it appeared a problem when changing the APU,so we replaced the GA-A75-UD4H mobo with ASUS F1A75-V PRO.
With this mobo,A6-3650 APU was under liquid nitrogen condition along with FSB up to 161MHz,multiplier was decreased to 26MHz,reaching the frequency of 4.186GHz finally.
