“Kepler” Based GeForce GTX 780 Outperforms GTX 580
Many of us think that NVIDIA’s next generation graphics will be called GeForce 600 series, however, a slide leaked by PCINLIFE suggested that "Kepler" would be named after GeForce 700 series.
The slide showed the performance comparison between GTX 580 and GTX 780, test bed included Core i7-3960X CPU, Windows 7 64-bit OS，297 series graphics driver, resolution of 2560*1600，AA/AF enabled. As the test result indicated, GTX 780 outperformed GTX 580 by a large margin, with performance increase ranging from 50%-100%.
Although the source didn’t clearly point out the GTX 780 would be NVIDIA’s flagship "Kelper", the portrait may explain everything.

Since Nvidia 5xx is just a marketing release from 4xx than this 7xx should be normal to have twice performace than 5xx with the same price.

Lol….is this a joke? NV are just trying to cover the fact they have dropped back a whole year in the release of their high end 600 series part….and considering that part is still a year out I doubt they are in a position to benchmark it against a 580 or they would be releasing it a lot sooner….this is just wishful thinking on NV’s part and an attempt to spin in the face of AMD’s imminent 7000 series release.

actually its believable, we all have to remember the performance increase from die to die will always be better than revised architecture with the same die size, Nvdia said that they have changed the architecture from fermi to kepler (not to say that they started from scratch) and mind that drivers used to test this new card are still somewhat “beta” compared to the drivers they will release during the launch. THE LAUNCH WILL BE LIKELY LESS THAN A YEAR – ANY MORE THAN A YEAR WILL BE STUPID. BTW it doesn’t matter if this is real or not, you’d still buy a new GPU anyway
