Hitachi Delivers Ultrastar SSD400S.B with 25nm SLC NAND Flash

Hitachi lately has announced its Ultrastar enterprise-class SSDs family which is the industry’s first to use 25nm SLC NAND flash.

The new Ultrastar SSD400S.B family is 2.5-inch in form factor (with thickness of only 15mm), available in 100GB, 200GB and 400GB capacities, and features Intel 25nm SLC NAND flash, as well as SAS 6Gbps interface.

In addition, the new SSDs deliver sequential read and write speed of 536MB/s and 502MB/s, while it offers up to 57,500 IOPS/25,500IOPS in 4K random reads/writes. Additionally, they have MTBF of two million hours.

Backed by five-year warranty, Ultrastar SSD400S.B drives have been shipped to select OEMs, product ramp is scheduled in the fist half of 2012.
