AMD launched new 7th-generation APU for mobile market which claimed to bring significant performance improvement. WCCFTECH has today exposed a picture of Asus Crosshair VI Impact motherboard for AMD’s new AM4 socket.
It’s been five years since Asus updated its Crosshair lineup last time, so it’s thrilling to see the sneak peek of Crosshair VI Impact.
Looking quite similar to M8I, the power supply part is redesigned so that the PCB can hold more components.
All of Asus ROG ITX motherboards feature unique design – for example, the 8-pin power connector for CPU is placed beside 24pin power connector for motherboard, and an independent sound card is inserted next to PCI-E slot. Judging from the exposed picture, AM4 base is put on the very middle of board, and the cooler kit looks identical to that of AM3 boards, so it’s likely the AM3 coolers would work with AM4 socket as well.
