Since Microsoft’s HoloLens augmented reality headset has been redefined as Mixed Reality device in May, it’s been widely used for medical, construction, outer space areas. Now, the Ukrainian soldiers are also going to use a HoloLens-enabled helmet to fight better.
The Ukrainian military has selected Limpid Armor to develop the Circular Review System (CRS) so that the tank commanders can have a better view of their surroundings just by turning their heads. What’s even more impressive is the CRS can tag enemy and friendly soldiers, designate targets and call in strikes from drones and similar attack craft.
First shown off at the Arms and Security event in Kiev, Ukraine, in early October, the HoloLens-equipped headset hasn’t entered any live field testing yet. It’s expected to be used by airline pilots, large industrial vehicle drivers and drone pilots in the near future.
