Microsoft HoloLens Coming to China

The Development Version of Microsoft’s new AR headset, HoloLens, started to receive pre-orders back in March. Despite of its insane pricing (US$3000), people still got so enthusiastic that the headset was fully booked across all eleven cities within the first 90 minutes of being made available.

HoloLens is ready to hit Japan now. The Microsoft Online Store is expected to list it for reservations in Japan starting December 2, with an estimated shipping time of early 2017.

“Our mission at Microsoft is to bring mixed reality to every person and organization on the planet,” said Alex Kipman, technical fellow, Microsoft Windows and Devices Group. “Since January 2015 we have been hard at work to bring the vision of mixed reality to life. It has been inspiring to see what has been created by our partners, and the team remains in awe of the way developers are using HoloLens. We can’t wait to see what everyone in Japan creates when they get their hands on HoloLens.”
