Scythe, the Japanese cooling expert who is famous for its specially-designed coolers, has just announced the fifth-generation of the Mugen CPU cooler. The Mugen 5 features 6 copper heatpipes and dual fans for maximum cooling performance.
Thanks to the new asymmetrical design, the Mugen 5 can work perfectly with tall memory modules. Additionally, several layers of the fin stack on the back have been shortened, to further increase RAM compatibility.
With a total height of 154.5mm, the Mugen 5 can fit into most PC chassis on the market.
Another highlight is the newly developed Kaze Flex 120 PWM fan, which offers flexible fan control from 300RPM up to 1,200RPM, while offering average lifespan of 120,000 hours.
The Mugen 5 supports all important CPU sockets, including the Intel Sockets LGA775, LGA1150, LGA1151, LGA1155, LGA1156, LGA1366 and LGA2011(V3) as well as AMD Sockets AM2(+), AM3(+), FM1 and FM2(+). With the model number of SCMG-5000, it has hit Europe with a MSRP of €40.50.
