Last week BlackBerry announced that TCL would be designing, manufacturing and selling BlackBerry-branded devices except India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh and Innonesia, which means the smartphone pioneer will officially bow out of the smartphone market and probably just provide its security software and service suite.
Steve Cistulli, the President and General Manager of TCL Communication in North Amercia, has recently posted a twitter, “Remington No.2 of 1878 #TheNewBlackBerry”. He also encourages people to join them at CES 2017, so we’re going to see the new BlackBerry phone as early as next month.
BlackBerry has tried many times to revive its smartphone business, but never succeeded. Therefore, the Canadian phone maker decided earlier this year that it would stop producing handsets in-house and focus on software development.
