Fixstars, the Japanese storage solution provider, unleashed 5TB and 6TB SSDs last year, intended for gigabyte class storage. They’ve just extended the capacities to an impressive 10TB and 13TB by introducing Fixstars SSD-10000M and SSD-13000M. These SSDs are mainly designed for storage, streaing, CG and visual FX editing and 4-8K video processing.
The 13000M is a SATA 2.5″ SSD that uses 15nm MLC NAND (instead of TLC NAND) for small-scale mobile devices. Its dimension is 100mmx70mmx15mm, and weighs 160g. Fixstars SSD-13000M features SATA 6Gbps interface, sequential read/write speed of up to 580/520 MB/s, power consumption of less than 6.5W and offers a 3-year warranty.
The website has started online pre-orders for Japanese and Americans, and the products are expected to ship in February.
