LG’s new UltraFine 5K Display has just been made available, and it will take 2 to 4 weeks to get it on hand.
At its full 5120×2880 resolution, the LG 5K display can be used with Apple’s latest 2016 MacBooks, simply by using a Thunderbolt 3 cable for 5K display. The supported models include the 15-inch MacBook Pro, 13-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar, and 13-inch MacBook Pro with no Touch Bar.
If you want to use it with older Macs, you’ll just need an adapter. For the Mac mini and the Mac Pro, Apple recommends using the LG UltraFine 5K display as a second monitor as it might not turn on until the machines are booted into macOS. Features like Boot Picker and macOS Recovery may not work on the display when used with those machines.
