AMD has been generous enough to showcase both Ryzen and Vega at CES 2017. At a press event they had a system running the Ryzen CPU along with their upcoming Vega GPU. According to 4Gamer’s source, the demo was running Star Wars Battlefront at 4K UHD resolution with all settings maxed out.
As we can tell from the monitor, the system was getting a solid 60 frames per second. Although the operator kept running and fighting, the frame number was quite stable.
ThinkComputer claimed that Radeon R9 Fury X and GeForce GTX 980 Ti could run at about 40 frames, while GTX 1080 is capable of running 48 frames according to Guru3D’s report.
The benchmark is impressive enough, but details of Vega are still scarce. Hopefully we’ll hear more in just a few days.
