If you compare HTC Vive with Oculus Rift, you’ll find the former one more complicated to use, which might make some potential buyers hesitate. Fortunately, the company has partnered with TPCAST for new accessories to improve wireless capability of the headset.
The optional wireless upgrade is most anticipated, and HTC confirms to Unlocked that the device will become globally available for pre-order later in Q1 2017 for $249, while the delivery to consumers will happen in Q2 of this year.
The upgrade device will sport a 6,000mAh battery, which will power about two hours of use.
The company has also announced the Vive Tracker, a small accessory designed to make peripherals come to life in virtual reality.
Anyway, HTC’s devotion to the VR experience is quite obvious, and let’s stay tuned for more fancy stuff from them.
