You may seen the Quad NIC solution by Gigabyte P45-DQ6, and ASUS now also unveils their P5Q Premium: another mobo with Quad NIC. And now Gigabyte said that is their first idea, and seems angry with these..

Gigabyte unveils Voltage Gear Overdrive, Gamer HUD, and 8800GT with new cooler

We have reported Gamer HUD before. In those time we think other brand’s 8800GT flashed with Gigabyte’s bios can also use the applications. But now Gigabyte adds a power control chip on the card and it made our idea become impossible.

The chip is called “Voltage Gear Overdrive”. With the chip and the software Gamer HUD, users can adjusting the GPU voltage for 3D gaming, or save some powers from the electtricty intensive 8800GT.

First look: Gigabyte X48T DQ6

Gigabyte X48T DQ6 looks like its processor X38 DQ6, seems nearly nothing changed on the board’s layout, only the north bridge heatsink is a little bigger.

Also the mobo can support 0.5x multiplier CPU. If you using a Q9550 then you can adjust multiplier by 6X, 6.5X, 7X, 7.5X, 8X, 8.5X.

The biggst addon of the board is DES system. Similar to ASUS EPU, DES system is also a power manage system. With the system the board can save more power in idle mode.

A few capacitors and chips more than X38 DQ6. Also noticed the heatsink of northbridge is bigger.

Gigabyte Now developing DDR2 X48

Sources in Gigabyte told us today that gigabyte are not going for DDR3 X48. They are now focus on developing DDR2 X48.

We know that in the planning stage, Intel want all X38 and X48 only support DDR3. Because of the pressure from consumers and manufacturers, Intel finally let X38 support DDR2, but X48 remains unsupported.

Let’s hope Gigabyte’s unilateral action will finally success.

BTW, Abit saids they won’t gonna have DDR3 X38, All their X38 supports DDR2.
