Microsoft Forbidden to Sell Word in US

 

U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas on Tuesday issued a permanent injunction that “prohibits Microsoft from selling or importing to the United States any Microsoft Word products that have the capability of opening .XML, .DOCX or DOCM files (XML files) containing custom XML” due to patent infringement.

Google Unveils Partner List for Chrome OS

 

After announcing the Chrome OS earlier this week, Google has now shed some lights on the partners for the open source operating system.

The list published includes Acer, Adobe, Asus, Freescale, Hewlett-Packard, Lenovo, Qualcomm, Texas Instruments and Toshiba. It’s a bit surprising that we didn’t see Intel or Dell, but Google notes that the list will be updated over time, so we’ll hopefully see lots of more names.

Microsoft to Exclude ARM Netbooks For Windows 7

 

ARM ever thought that the upcoming Windows 7 operating system would run on netbooks powered by their chips, and was aiming for a 30% share of the entire netbook market next year, but the company should be quite disappointed as Microsoft has recently denied about this.

“For people who want a PC, albeit a different chipset, we don’t think those will work very well, “Steve Guggenheimer, Microsoft’s corporate Vice President for original equipment manufacturers, told Reuters during an interview at ComputeX.
